Shotgun Review: Fabarm's ALL NEW Autumn SxS
Having been producing firearms since 1900 in Italy, Fabarm has put their twelve decades of firearms experience into the Autumn, their first side-by-side developed especially for the American hunter.
The Autumn not only makes for an exceptionally gorgeous shotgun with it's deluxe walnut stock and rich case hardened receiver, but also for a particularly well balanced shotgun that points well and shoots like a dream.
--
Weighing in at just above six pounds, the Autumn has it's balance point just in front of the hinge pin allowing it to point and carry exceptionally well. While out in the field shooting birds or clay, rest assured it will sweep whatever target with ease. Additionally, the Autumn features a hand-fit walnut butt plate making mounting the shotgun all the more easier while preventing any snagging on clothing.
When it comes to durability and reliability, Fabarm's four lug locking system comes into play creating an incredibly firm lockup between the monoblock and action. The action itself is machined from a single block of high grade steel ensuring the highest level of strength. Moreover, the barrels are manufactured with a high temperature solder further guaranteeing durability. More on the barrels, they feature Fabarm's Tribore, a tapered bore that increases performance while reducing weight and lowering recoil.
Other features include:
Currently available in 20ga with either 28” or 30” barrels.
A deluxe grade of oil finished walnut complements the rich color case hardened receiver with full-coverage engraving
The rounded action features ornamental style scroll engraving with elegant color case hardened finish.
INNER HP long screw in choke system features a hyperbolic design that maximizes pattern performance.
The barrels are highlighted by a “swamped” style rib with a textured finish to reduce glare.
The fore-end incorporates a hardened steel insert where it contacts the barrel lug which increases durability and allows Fabarm technicians to tighten the action should the user ever request that.
Selective trigger operates on the reliable inertia system and breaks cleanly at 4lbs.
The trigger mechanism features interceptor sears for additional safety.
The action incorporates rebounding hammers to improve the longevity of the firing pins.
