Shotgun Review: Caesar Guerini's Essex Limited Gold Sporting - The Highest Level Of Elegance
When it comes to the making of exceptional over-under shotguns that are simply drop dead gorgeous, very few come close to the level of Italian shotgun manufacturer Caesar Guerini. Enter the Essex Limited Gold, the pinnacle of what Italian shotguns are meant to be.

Calling back to the days of simple elegance, the Essex Limited Gold features a beautiful case colored receiver contrasted by white, rose and yellow gold subjects framed by English scroll engraving. The beauty of the simple yet ornate scroll engravings that surround the receiver, side plates, top tang, and trigger guard cannot be overstated. Not only that but combined with the masterful case hardening contrasted with the gold engravings, the result is quite simply a genuine work of art.
More on the simple elegance, there are very minimal engravings done on the high polished blued barrels with the monobloc complimenting it with a beautifully jeweling.
The case hardened receiver and side plates are beautifully complimented with an Extra Deluxe grade of Turkish walnut and topped off with a natural oil finish which is hand rubbed till a stunning gloss is achieved. The Essex Limited Gold also sports 26 LPI checkering on both the fore-end and the Prince of Wales style grip.
Moving on, we have the trigger which is made of stainless steel. The safety is non-automatic, and the barrel selector is a part of the safety. Ensuring safety, Caesar Guerini makes it intentionally hard to move that selector right or left as to prevent unknowingly shifting the selector. Topping it all off, the Essex Limited Gold is outfitted with a solid and tapered top rib which boasts the elegance of the gun while simultaneously strengthening it.
CAESAR GUERINI ELITE DEALERS
Like Caesar Guerini says, “Once they’re gone – they’re gone. If this beauty is one that you seek, then you would be wise not to let her pass you bye.”
