Pistol Review: HK's Upcoming SP5K PDW - The Best Civilian MP5 Ever!

HK has recently announced the civilian version of their famed MP5K platform, the SP5k PDW

Based on the company's adored MP5 and MP5K platform, the SP5K PDW brings a slimline design with a 5.83-inch barrel and 13.8-inch overall length. Weighing in at a mere 4.2 pounds, the SP5K sports all the traditional features that any HK fan would look for.

HK cut no corners with the SP5K outfitting it with their tried-and-tested roller-delayed blowback system, which is legendary for its accuracy, reliability, and smooth shooting dynamic. It was originally perfected on HK's G3 rifle and is still in use in countless firearms around the world.

The features don't stop there, the SP5K is loaded with authentic features, like a 4.5” barrel with Navy-style threaded tri-lug adaptor, paddle magazine release and a fluted chamber. Topping it all off, the PDW model also offers compatibility with MP5 stocks and supports 10-, 15-, and 30-round mags.

A fun fact of HK's "K" models, the “K” designation is from the German word for short – kurtz; thus the K model’s shorter barrel and receiver.
