Pistol Review: The CZ 75 BD

Designed in 1975, the original CZ 75 has become the most iconic model of the CZ handgun line with over one million 75's produced.

With such popularity, an entire family of pistols were created based on the classic CZ 75 design: compacts, decockers, single action only, ambidextrous, alloy frames as well as competition pistols.

The topic of this review being the CZ 75 BD, the standard decocker version of the CZ 75 B model.

--

Just as the 75 B, the 75 BD feature the same ergonomics and DA/SA action that have made the CZ 75 the most copied handgun design second only to the 1911.

Built with a steel frame, a black polycoat finish, 3 dot sights, and a 16+1 9mm capacity, the CZ 75 B is used by more governments, militaries, police and security agencies than any other pistol in the world

Features:

  • All steel construction

  • Decocking lever mounted on the left side

  • High capacity double column magazines

  • Hammer forged barrels

  • Ergonomic grip and controls

  • Unparalleled accuracy

  • Slide-in-frame design for better recoil control

  • 3 dot sighting system

  • Smooth double action and crisp single action

  • Extended service life due to advanced design and superior materials

  • Firing pin block safety

The ‘B’ designation is an indicator that the model is equipped with a firing pin block safety. While the 'D' designation indicates this model is equipped with a decocking lever mounted on the left side allowing the hammer to be easily lowered on a loaded chamber for a safe, ‘hammer down’ carry.
