Rifle Review: The Christensen Arms Summit Ti
When it comes to hunting, there are many great rifles in life, however only a select few are truly unprecedented or and without equal. The Summit Ti delivers on that sentiment. Inspired by decades of carbon tech development and custom firearms experience from Christensen Arms, the rifle is a refinement of composite materials and the advantage they can bring to a bolt-action platform.
When keeping weight to a minimum is a necessity, the Summit Ti has you covered!
APPLICATIONS
The Summit is an extremely striking and distinguished firearm and it is not an understatement to say it is a one-of-a-kind.
Currently offered in 16 chamberings and weighing between 5.5 and 6 pounds the Summit is suitable for all sorts of terrains whether it be it be tundra, desert, or mountains, the Summit performs accurately all the same.
The Summit is chambered in various calibers to suit different aspects of hunting. However, we recommend calibers, .300 Win & 7mm Rem Mag for bigger game such as elk and moose. Calibers, 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win, are best suited for light skin game such as deer and antelope.
THE DESIGN
Built from the most advanced materials, the Summit Ti is the ultimate refinement of carbon fiber utilized for firearms. Each and every Summit is built by hand and assembled in Christensen's Utah factory.
The extensive process of building a Summit starts with the Christensen Arms Carbon Fiber Barrel, which is machined from a 416R stainless steel bar. The steel is precision drilled, button rifled, and then turned down to an exceptionally slim profile before being wrapped in carbon fiber. Christensen's proprietary carbon fiber is an aerospace-grade composite originally used in aerospace industry. The barrel is threaded and outfitted with one of Christensen's Titanium Radial Brakes.
Now we move onto the action along with it's fully adjustable match-grade trigger. The Summit's titanium action is made from a bar of Ti-6AL-4V and machined to include an integral 0 MOA Picatinny split rail. Lighter than steel, titanium complements the carbon fiber elements of the Summit exceptionally.
The Summit is then equipped with Christensen's Aerograde Carbon Fiber Composite Stocks. The stocks are finished with full receiver glass bedding and carbon fiber pillars. The Summit comes with multiple stock options including a sporter style and a thumbhole style. The Thumbhole Stock features a modified beavertail forearm and an enhanced comb, while the Sporter Stock option can help eliminate all unnecessary elements for an ultra-lightweight setup.
For hunters who seek the very best (and lightest) the Summit is what your looking for. Backed by a Half MOA guarantee, the Summit Ti exemplifies the finest design, quality, and performance Christensen Arms has to offer.
