Pistol Review: The GLOCK 19X
For many GLOCK fans the 19X is something straight out of our imagination making our dreams come true. This unique crossover combines G17 frame with a G19 slide assembly allowing for the capacity of the full size G17 magazines, with more efficient handling, and superb accuracy in a smaller package.
This once-in-a-lifetime package offers the best of both worlds with high capacity magazines in a smaller frame allowing for easy conceal carry ability. Another first for GLOCK with the 19X is the first factory-colored pistol they have ever produced along with a coyote colored case to match the finish. The nPVD slide coating not only provides stunning looks but also prevents corrosion, resists chemicals, and stands up against the elements. Along with the coated slide, the Gen4-proven rough textured frame surface is also present on the G19X frame and is perfectly designed to enhance grip traction, without being too aggressive. The 19X also allows diversity and customizations coming with backstraps in two sizes each one with or without beaver tail. The multiple backstrap frame allows the users to change the circumference of the grip to fit their individual hand size. The ambidextrous slide stop lever also adds to the diversity of the pistol along with the extended reversible magazine.
The GLOCK Marksman barrel features enhanced barrel rifling based on the proven polygonal barrel design which delivers improved accuracy. The Glock 19X has been test-fired from a Ransom Rest, by Glock HQ, and proven to hold 3″ groups at a distance of 50 yards; twice the typical standard of 25 yards for most industry pistols. Not only is it extremely accurate, but also very easy to handle with a G19 slide assembly combined with a longer handle allowing quick, successive shots.
